マレーシアの枯枝から採集された１メスを元に記載された。その後、ボルネオではPternandra属（ノボタン科）から１メスが得られているが、日本では沖縄本島のマダケ属（イネ科）からオスとメスが採集されている。

This species was described based on a single female collected from dry twigs in Malaysia. Thereafter, a female was collected from a Pternandra species [Melastomataceae], but both sexes have been collected from Pyllostachys species [Poaceae] in Okinawa Is., Japan.
